The trust provides study grants to students doing post graduate study and has enabled scholars from all walks of life to fulfill their dreams, and in so doing benefit South Africa.Requirements:* The student must be a South African citizen.

Commonwealth Scholarships in South Africa

Students from a developing country in the Commonwealth who meet the entrance requirements for postgraduate study at the respective institutions are eligible to apply for Commonwealth Scholarships in South Africa.

Each institution (listed below) has its own application and selection procedure and it is imperative for interested applicants to contact the institutions directly for more information.

The University of Newcastle, Australia, has announced new research scholarships

The University Of Newcastle Australia Research Scholarships For Indian Students



The University of Newcastle, Australia, has announced new research scholarships for Indian students to undertake Ph.D. research.

The scholarships will provide return airfares between India and Australia, full tuition costs and a living allowance of up to Australian $22,000 (approx Rs.7.5 lakh) per year for up to three and a half years.



Qualification

In order to qualify for entry into the research higher degrees at the University of Newcastle, students should have completed a previous research degree (that is, M. Phil.) from any premier institution in India, and should have submitted a formal thesis dissertation as a part of the programme course, says Jamshed A. Sid-diqui, Country Director - India & Chief Representative -South Asia, University of Newcastle.

Prospective students should submit a completed Research Higher Degree (RHD) application form with supporting academic documents to: ia@newcastle.edu.au

All RHD applications submitted prior to March 31, 2009 will be considered for scholarship eligibility.
