Brain Foundation Research Grants High School Scholarships


The Grant High School Scholarships is announced to support individual researchers and research teams to conduct the highest quality research in brain illnesses and neurological disorders as well as brain and spinal injuries,and to provide opportunities for early career researchers to gain initiating funding for projects with potential.
The grants High School Scholarships are open to competition nationally and all researchers in Australia are eligible to apply, however consideration, subject to merit, is given to-Early career investigators, either clinicians or neuroscientists, to help them establish an ongoing research program, Innovative projects.

Postdoctoral Position High School Scholarships in New Chemical Mechanisms


High School Scholarships The ideal candidate expertise in one or more of the following feature: organic chemistry, electrochemistry, biochemistry, and / or analytical chemistry. Earlier experiments on reaction mechanisms and kinetics are also beneficial.

Condition of employment

He / she will work closely with engineers to work in a microtechnique / doctors / biologists new sensors, actuators and micro-robots developed. In particular, these new devices to specific developments: ionic solutions with osmotic activity, self-propelled and soft structures oscillating hydrogels, membranes, mono-and multi-layered bio-inspired.

The
High School Scholarships successful candidate has to produce a free spirit, strong ability to create new ideas, the boundaries of science and technology, and wants to work in teams and collaborate on various topics. Ability to draft / spoken English is mandatory.

The
High School Scholarships position is based from May 2011 to 12 months with a renewable contract on performance. Salary and benefits are very competitive for international standards. The candidate will have a young and enthusiastic and co-guardian of several PhD students working in the areas of research above.

The Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia (IIT), with headquarters in Genova (Italy), is a non- profit institution with the primary goal of to promote excellence in basic and applied research and to contribute to the economic development of Italy.

The Center for MicroBioRobotics@SSSA of the Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia (IIT), directed by Dr. Barbara Mazzolai, aims at developing innovative methodologies and robotic technologies, new materials, and advanced components, both for the design and construction of high performance bio-inspired machines and systems at the micro scale, and for the development of devices for biomedical, environmental, and rescue applications. The mission of the Center is to generate and promote new scientific and technological knowledge in the microbiorobotics field, which is fully deployed by inventions deriving from an interdisciplinary approach to the tackled scientific problems. The scientific activities are carried out within the MicroRobotics and the Smart Materials Platforms.

Postdoctoral Fellow in Theoretical Biology at University of Gothenburg

The appointee is supposed to conduct research independently, and to actively participate in ongoing projects developing coalescent models for meta-populations of a marine invertebrate species, Littorina saxatilis. This species is a widely used model for evolutionary studies and comprehensive background data is available (evolutionary ecology, behavior, population genetics and intraspecific phylogeny). The project involves intense collaborations, not only with theoreticians, but also with evolutionary biologists.

To qualify as a postdoctoral fellow you must have completed a PhD in a relevant subject area or you must have a foreign degree corresponding to a PhD in a relevant subject area. Preference will be given to candidates who have been awarded the degree no more than three years before the final date of application. Candidates being awarded their degree earlier than this can also be preferred if specific reasons exist. Such specific reasons may be a leave due to illness, parentalleave or other similar circumstances.

Scholarship Description:This scholarship is named for Marian McQuiddy, former Journalism teacher at Socorro High School. This scholarship will provide one $1000 scholarship to a graduating senior at Socorro High School. Candidates must show demonstrated interest in photography or creative writing. It is preferred, but not required, that the candidate has served on the yearbook staff.
